finally uploaded the photos from the trip. next time, i'm not going to set the resolution that big anymore. took me 3 days to upload everything on photobucket.
here's some of the more interesting stuff that happened during the trip.
(image heavy!)

getting ready to board the plane at Changi.
birdy was very taken in by Azu-nyan.
the entourage that followed us.
arriving at Narita and queuing for the JR Pass.
inside the Narita Express train.
waiting for the train to Kyoto.
our first meal!! train bento!!!
Kyoto Station. has a very futuristic feel.
the inside looks beautiful too.
our first stop in Kyoto, Fushimi Inari Shrine.
home of the 1000+ Torii gates.
couldn't walk the whole thing because of time constraint.
it would take us 2 hours if we were to walk all the way to the top! but the sky was already darkening at 4pm, so we had to abort operation.
Kyoto streets.
outside Kiyomizudera.
Ema (絵馬).
this would be very pretty if the autumn leaves had turned colors.
Nishiki Market
reaching Nara Station.
my first melon pan!
deer sightings!
they're really running everywhere. but i think we were concentrating more on evading their droppings on the floor.
Todaiji Temple.
Miko with some weird head-band. at Kasuga Taisha.
you know what the people wish for.
and maybe a little bit more. hahaha.
some mochi from Naramachi.
went to Dotombori in Osaka for dinner.
too much choices. ended up with having a harder time to choose a dinner place.
Osaka-jo!
home of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
history of the Sengoku period was laid out in the castle.
our two main leads from Sengoku Basara.
aren't you glad they were bishonen-ified. heehee.
yummy takoyaki from Osaka!
Tsutenkaku @ Shinseikai
finding Osho at Osaka!
of course, it was more delicious compared to Cuppage Plaza.
next is authentic Osaka dinner!
Sagano Romantic Train at Arashiyama.
Bamboo forest trail.
inside Tenryuji Temple grounds.
the scenery inside was very pretty.
bringing the girls out.
streets of Arashiyama.
last stop of Kyoto, Kinkakuji!
pretty!!
after Kyoto, we set off back to Tokyo in the evening.
because, we were going to the happiest place on earth the next day.
birdy was very very excited.
she just ran ahead of us!
DISNEYLAND!!!
piggy!
found Shannie who was there on the same day. HA!
Halloween parade.
as Oct is Halloween month, there were tons of Disney cosplayers.
nekomimi!!
Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
the one and only ride we went for, as we don't need to queue long!
succumbed and bought the nekomimi.
came in very handy because it turned very cold when it started raining in the afternoon!
really like all the Halloween decorations.
birdy trying out her "tasukete!"
Russell!!
Mr Fredricksen!!
ninja cosplayer!
hahaha. ah gu was very cold.
next day, it was off to see Fuji-san.
wasn't that cold when we reached, 10.5 degrees.
couldn't get a full view of Fuji-san. the clouds were too low!
trying out the local dish, Hota noodles.
Music Forest, a music theme park and museum.
very European feel.
my favorite tree.
our hotel room at Sunnide Resort.
enjoying a cup of tea before dinner.
initially, we thought this was dinner.
until we read the menu and realized it was only appetizers!
check out the sashimi!!
the lobster was fantastic!
and dessert was just as delicious.
we reckoned that piece of rock melon we ate probably cost $3 already!
our futons were laid out by the time we went back after dinner.
getting ready to go to the onsen.
it might not look like it, but the yutaka are really warm!
and after our onsen, we had to drink some milk!
just like they do in anime!
as it was raining the next day, temperature dropped to 5 degrees!
we still went for a morning dip at the onsen anyway. heehee.
outside Asakusa, with the Asahi beer Tower in the background.
Kaminarimon.
one huge sandal!
after birdy went back to sg, it was down to me and ah gu. and it was serious anime shopping time!
my favorite breakfast.
Apple N' Cream bread from Vie de France, near our hostel at Ikebukuro.
Jump Shop @ Tokyo Dome City.
Hayato!
there was a Kuroshitsuji exhibition at Namja Town in Sunshine City.
Namja Town mascot.
there was an ultra small display of Hakuouki too!
experiencing One Piece on Fuji TV on sunday morning.
Akihabara
not much photos. we were more interested in shopping. wahahahahhaa.
Yokohama.
Yamashita Park.
Tokyo Tower!
Rainbow Bridge seen from Odaiba.
Fuji TV Building.
the fake Statue of Liberty.
you can see the silhouette of Tokyo Tower at the back.
Tokyo Big Sight!
someday, i will go for an anime event there!
ferris wheel at Palette Town.
the inside of Palette Town is a shopping complex called Venus Fort.
hence the European style interior.
Rainbow Bridge is pretty at night.
went back to Akihabara on our second last day.
because we missed Tokyo Anime Centre the first time!
turns out, while we were looking for a building, it was actually situated on a floor in the UDX building.
nothing much there except for some full-size figurines and a small shop.
saw the Gundam cafe though.
situated right outside Akihabara Station, we wondered how we could've missed it too.
going back to Akihabara on a bright morning was the right choice!
we went up to Tocho at Shinjuku for this lovely view.
since we were too cheapo to go up Tokyo Tower.
and finally finally, Ghibli Museum!!
robot from Laputa.
dustballs at the window. kawaii!
Straw Hat Restaurant.
nothing to do with Luffy of course.
the cutest tap ever.
food is expensive at the restaurant.
not that we got to go in anyway. full-house!
the rest of the photos can be found on my photobucket account here.
ah gu will probably be doing the in-depth breakdown of everyday anyway. heehee.
