no kopitiam invasion tonight...
moo moo and birdy went for an all-nighter KTV session at paradiz centre's Party World... if it weren't for work tomorrow morning, i would've been singing along with them right now...

so instead, i'm here blogging the non-existence of our kopitiam invasion... yes, we'll still have it next week, before i leave for genting and meow meow goes into hibernation for her studies... she must be very busy again, cos she din reply to any emails for the whole week... next week's kopitiam is at jurong west (blk) 500+ market kk...

of my 1st BMA...
BMA: bone marrow aspiration
mr yeo is on mc today... the good thing was, i was well prepared, mentally, that i had to do BMA... it wasn't a last minute mc where they couldn't find people to do... of cos, we're not the ones doing the actual procedure, but we act as a support for the doctors and nurses...

the procedure: after preparing our stuff, goes up to the ward... patient would've been sedated and ready for the doctor to plunge an BM aspirate needle into their bone... once the doc is in the bone, he/she will pass the collected BM to us and we'll make smears from it... important thing for us is to make sure it's a good collection (check for presence of solid particles) before the doc can pull out the needle and end the procedure... (click on the first 2 words if anyone wants a visual)

since i'm a core staff of the haematology section, i'm being trained to do the procedure... though i've been up with my senior staff before, this was my 1st time doing the smears all by myself... i was quite petrified, wondering whether i'll be able to make the smears properly... or if i'll accidentally spill precious BM on the floor or something...

i think i was really blessed... the doc was good, the patient was good, the marrow was good... it was easy to make the smears, and i had muiling (another staff who went up with me) to help me double-check that i was doing correctly... everything went smoothly and was over in a matter of 10-15min... it helped boast my confidence and i am more "secure" (for lack of a better word) now that i'll be able to do the job should the need arise for me to go up alone...

of choir today...
sitting between my sis and jiahui, we were making each other laugh throughout the whole practise... sorry to teckbeng laoshi and Xu shimu who was conducting the choir... but we really tried to keep it down, not that it was working much...

having practise in the music/dance room is not good... there's a huge mirror infront of us, and we tend to (mis)use it by communicating through our reflections... today, it was worse than ever... i think since we started playing more and more mahjong, we've been getting more and more crazy...

jiahui was posing out more facial expressions than usual that my sis was affected and was doing the same thing... imagine both of them doing it at the same time, it's hilarious... we were trading insults at each other again, and den laughing hysterically after trying to pull a straight face... we had jiahui posing as japanese schoolgirl taking photos... ended up with me laughing til i was tearing, and sis crunched up laughing and lying on my lap...

*sighs* i shall miss this when i move up to the adult choir next yr...


ps. FTT on monday afternoon (moo moo's birthday), 4.30pm... i haven't studied a single thing yet... yikes! better do some studying during the weekend...

we finally managed to satisfy moo moo's craving for roti prata on our last kopitiam invasion... juz a small shop below those 2-storey buildings near my old home at jurong east, it was packed full of people even at 10pm... can see people really like the pratas there... the teh bing is also not bad... at least better than the one in boon lay market...

meow meow came late since she was attending a seminar in town... i thought there was only that one kopitiam opposite jurong primary school... turns out there was another one and she went to that instead... so she called birdy to ask for directions...

bad move... birdy giving out directions?? worse thing, moo moo tagged along with her to find meow meow... and moo moo is even worse... not that she doesn't know where she is, just that she's not all that fantastic on directing people... (Moo Moo: Not my fault!!!! Birdy passed the hp to me!! & Birdy was the one who say opposite JURONG PRI!)

at least all 3 of them managed to come back safely... granted, they left me all alone in the kopitiam... lucky kenny happened to be there (he went there for supper after choir), and he kept me company for a while...

i've been asked by liwen laoshi and uncle seb to be the chairperson for the youth camp this year... though well assured by them, and auntie sharon, that it'll be a relatively easy job this time round, i'm still apprehensive about it... lots of worries in my head... plus, i have to find my own committee members instead of the usual where they have already been selected...

but, this year would be entirely different as the main theme of the camp is focused on the tabernacle... yes, as in the tabernacle from the Old Testament... using real building materials, we're gonna build it from scratch, together with the robe for the chief priest...

it'll be an experience not to be missed... who knows when will there be another time when we would have the chance to do this...

why moo moo will always be the ultimate 损友...

that's cos she goes to sunshine plaza... walks and see the GSD petit studio at The Anime House, mms RR with the pictures she takes, and in the process of 损-ing RR, tempts herself to buy the whole set too...

i haven't had time to take with my digicam, but i shall leave the job over to moo moo to do so... heehee... moo moo bought the whole set, 5 of them, plus 3 variants... rey is so kawaii!! kira too!!!!

see lah... i shouldn't be getting this so soon lor... moo moo... all ur 损-ing.... must wait for my payday kk... 2 more weeks....

i don't have the space to put them up on my shelves, BUT i've already asked my dad to help me makes the stands... gonna do it together with him... heehee... could probably put even more with the new stands...

Anime News: GSD 50 by seed-fansubs is out. Bleach double episode (ep. 52-53), chinese subbed, is also available...

to my other friends who read the blog, if you can't understand some of the posts, juz ignore, skip and continue on to the next understandable one... i don't expect you guys to read them really, cos unless you're a otaku (guru) like me or moo moo, nothing we say will ever make sense...

but i'm happy enough that there are people reading... thank you all very much for patronizing the blog, even though you complain that the posts are all super long (<- reference to ian)... i'll try to put in as much normal stuff as i can together with all the anime/manga ones...

so thought i'll talk about normal life for now... this week is a hectic week at work... 5 of our staff took leave cos they were having exams for the week and we're super short-handed everyday... not that there's not enough people in the lab actually... there are still enough people in each section, at every station...

problem is, the people who are working are 1) either working very slowly or, 2) they're juz KLKK-ing... that leaves those that really are doing their jobs more stressed cos it seems like they have more work since they have to try to cover other people's work...

lots of complains from the wards and doctors about us not meeting out turnaround time (TATs) for the tests... *sighs* there's only this much we can do... we can't help it if the specimens come in late cos the reception staff have to do audit and check if the registration for the tests are correct...

sometimes, it really sucks to have accreditations and ISOs and other what-nots... makes things more difficult to work around too... "you can't put solution X here cos it doesn't abide by the safety regulations in JCI... No, we have to do this extra step cos that's what's written in the P&P..." blah blah blah...

did i mention that i was on normal day shift for the whole week? maybe that's why i'm feeling so exhausted and crappy... i'm too pampered with my afternoon and night shifts that working day shifts for more than 4 consecutive days is a torture...

good thing is that the week is almost ending... YeAh! not that i have any TGIF (thank goodness it's friday) feeling this week since i'm working on saturday... but hey! at least it's the end of the week... and kopitiam invasion is coming up... ^_^.``


ps. moo moo... if you're going to latendo (within the month of oct), can you help me reserve a set of the GSD petit studio... or any number i can call?? i cannot go down there this month... will be suicidal...

Continue GSD 50 rantings

ok... i've watched the last episode... really, anti-climax ending... plus, i dun think anything much was wrapped up too... very disappointing seeing that it took so long... 50 episodes leh! if the ending was gonna be so alike GS, i rather it was just a normal 26-episodes series... with a better ending... and frankly speaking, the last 5 episodes were quite stupid too... it's really one of the worst endings i've ever seen...

things left unsettled (spoilers ahead!):
1) With Dullindal dead, what's going to happen to PLANT and Earth??
2) Athrun and Cagalli
3) Shinn and Lunamaria
4) Fate of Naturals and Coordinators (same as 1st point)

we don't have to worry about Kira and Lacus... they'll definitely still be together... what we have to worry about is...

5) are they really going for a part 3??!! nooooooooooo!!!

moo moo, i dun think Talia is Rey's mom... neither do i think Dullindal is his dad too... Rey's a clone from Fraga's dad, same as Cruz from GS... because he's a clone, he doesn't have a normal life and all he ever wants in life is to have a normal life, with a normal family who recognize him for what he is... not as a clone, but as a normal person... *sighs* kawai sou (japanese 101: unfortunate/poor thing)...

there better be some OVA or movie to end this series properly, or it's going down in history as the Gundam series with the worst ending ever... but just something short... i don't think i can take another 50 episodes with the same repeated storyline and ending...

ok... i've did my inventory... and, as much as my sis wants to say this, i really don't have more manga than moo moo... =p

moo moo... i'm at my 677th book now... though i think i'll be surpassing you soon cos i haven't add in my total PoT collection yet since i'm still trying to slowly buy them... that's another 20+ books...

i'm feeling guilty already...

KON PLUSHIE!!

was so so ecstatic when i saw, not juz one, but TWO of them in the display cupboard... yes, the display cupboard... where they should be out of people's reach, so that when real buyers (like me) go buy them, they wouldn't be particular about it being a display piece... i'm so proud of it... look how big it is... compared to meow meow's ichigo, this is twice as large... mwahaha... i know, i'm bad... making fun of ichigo... meow meow said she's tempted to buy, but if she did, kon will be bigger than ichigo...

how do you expect me to get the smaller version after seeing this huggable one... *grins*

other than that... today is friday... so AU (minus birdy) went to invad another kopitiam... will hand it over to moo moo to check which street this one is on... the teh bing was ok, though meow meow commented that the auntie put alot of milk into it... not too sweet, but i haf a sweet tooth... so my "juz nice" might be "too sweet" for others...

moo moo was very late cos she went to see sammi cheng at lido, orchard... *growls* and i juz found out tt meow meow has a boyfriend for the past 5 or so months... *sighs* why do i always seems to be the last one to find out about such things... makes me feel abit stupid and blur... but meow meow also not the type to publicize about it... so can't really blame her...

moo moo, when you start going out with someone, please tell me in advance kk... so i dun say the wrong things at the wrong time... break-up must also say... all the more must tell me... that one confirm canot say wrong things...

seems like getting my kon plush is a much harder task than i expected... why is it that every time i want to get something, it is always always sold out!! i went to PS expecting to see Kon in all his superman glory, waiting for me to buy him... instead, i saw Kon in all shapes and sizes, even Ichigo decking out as Kon...

ALL, except for the one i wanted... him in the red cape... ~_~.``

i even went back to bugis to see if they still have that last piece i saw on wednesday... but even bugis had sold that one away...!! so now, i'm left with the last Action City outlet in orchard... i'm not putting much hope into that one either... if PS and bugis are all sold out, chances are slim over there too...
as long as i dun get the impulse to get something else to replace my lost plushie... which i will have... but i've appointed meow meow to be my Voice of (considerable) Reason; so she can stop me from impulsive shopping...

i'm already thinking of which calendar to buy for 2006... i noe moo moo already put deposit down for GSD liao... i'm tempted to get the One Piece calendars again, but i should refrain from duplicates... other options include, PoT or Tsubasa comic ones, or the Studio Ghibli anime one... all so tempting!!

i will try to do up my manga inventory soon... so i can compare with moo moo and hopefully will be less guilty once i find out i buy less manga than her... and therefore feel better buying PoT too... mwehehehe...

Santa gets compensation after air force kills reindeer

COPENHAGEN : The Danish air force has paid damages to one of the country's many professional Santa Clauses after a blast from a low-flying fighter jet left Rudolph the reindeer lifeless, reports said on Wednesday.

The Father Christmas, whose real name is Olovi Nikkanoff and who lives on the central Danish island of Fyn, told TV2 station that he was devastated last February when he discovered his reindeer's body.

The veterinarian who examined the dead beast concluded that Rudolph had died from the shock of the deafening noise made by the fighter plane.

Following an official complaint from Nikkanoff, the Danish air force agreed to pay him 30,000 kroner (US$4,840) to buy a new reindeer. - AFP/de

Anime News: Bleach 51 is out... chinese subbed though... sorry meow meow... and i've watched GSD 49 too... all hooked up and ready for the last 2 episodes!!

i've juz embarked on another big manga project... Prince of Tennis aka PoT for short... it's suicidal, but i've decided to do it anyway... this is gonna take longer than my One Piece project because;
1) the manga is currently at its 29th book.
2) my sis is not gonna be sharing this with me.

on the bright side, that at least meant that i'll have something to buy every week from now on... as i've already said before, recently the rate that taiwan is producing their books is getting slower and slower... i'm getting depressed... my favorite shojo author, nakajo yuuki's new book is already at its 2nd book in japan, and yet taiwan is still not coming out with the chinese translation... and guess what, Chuangyi is schedule to release it soon! i'm now in a debate with myself on whether to buy the Chuangyi version or wait it out for the TongLi one... *dilemma*

in other news...
moo moo wants either Suzuki Jimny/Ignis or a boyfriend for her birthday... i have NO IDEA who is Suzuki Jimny/Ignis... boyfriend, can still source out for you... kekeke... what you want in a boy boy must also tell us... if not, we dunno how to narrow down the search...

Why RR doesn't like sore throats

i hate, detest, loathe and absolutely abhor sore throats...
1st of all, it takes more than a day to recover from them...
secondly, most of the time, it usually comes after a terrible sneezing fit, which in my case, was when i was on night shift on sunday... i was sneezing non-stop and eventually, when it finally calmed down, it morphed into a sore throat (might be caused by all the mucus going down the throat)...
lastly and most importantly of all, i can't swallow properly without experiencing acute pain, which means, i can't eat anything i like...

the funny thing was, i actually did feel better yesterday night... my sneezing had turned into full-fledged runny nose, but my throat had stopped hurting and it didn't hurt when i tried to talk or swallow... of course, i've taken my medicine b4 all this, so if i was still going worse, den the medicine should be flushed down the toilet... i juz couldn't comprehend why i woke up today with juz my left side of the throat in pain... thank goodness i took lozenges and it feels slightly better, at least, better enough that i can take my lunch with less pain... gonna drink coconut water later... took cab back home yesterday and the cab driver, very helpful person, advised that i drink coconut water... so after my visit to the doctor, i went to NTUC and lugged 4 coconuts back home... my throat did feel alittle better, but i'm still doubtful it's all the coconut water helping... but hey, next time anyone brings home coconuts and don't know how to open them up, come find me...

MC for today, hopefully i'll be in a much better shape to go to work tomorrow... thankfully, i'm only working half-day... so if i still feel wretched, i think i could still hang in there for half a day before i go back to rest more...

compared to sore throats and runny nose, i prefer to have just a normal fever... at least it'll recover with one day bed rest... ~_~.``

And so, we went back to the "Pickpocket Place" aka JW St 63, firstly to look for the famed duck noodles(Not open again); secondly for the bird (special guest) to try the "superb" chicken wing(i dun really like); thirdly to catch the pickpocket(0_0).

This moo moo, with Naruto, her Muvo, her hp, her keys, decided to walk to the place from JW St 91. Thinking dat she'd brought everything, she happily stepped outta door at 9.50pm, and started her journey. Along the way, she returned rr's msg, and dropped the phone while trying to put it back inside the pouch with Naruto occupying most part of her hoof. She xim-tiahingly picked up all the pieces and fixes them back along the journey.

Walk walk walk, she saw 179 coming. Ohh! Meow Meow and Birdy had arrived. Walks faster. Another traffic light and she'll reach the destination, she saw another 179 on the other side of the road. Aiya shld've taken the bus. Then she realised. SHE DIN BRING HER WALLET OUT!!!! She remembered everything else BUT HER WALLET!! duhh..

Ok back to the report. I, being sick of chicken wings, went looking for other food while the 3 other animals feasted. Prata? No more prata. Satay? Not open. WAHHHH. Anyway, fastforward. Jus as we're leaving, we saw Junming. <- Dao gia. Haha.

Then we went to kopitiam no. 2 for the night. JW St 91 Blk (I'll go n check it out.) Response there, DRINKS DAMN EX!! But rojak quite good. And so we the 4 tai tais in the making rehearsed wat we'll be doing in 20 yrs time. Lim kopi tok kok. kakkakkakkaa..

3) the growing up of Momiji. i'm serious, he looks really good all grown-up. (ch111)
4) Tohru finally realizing AND admitting her feelings for Kyo to Rin. (ch114)
5) the reason why Akito was raised as a boy. more anger issues between her and the mom. (ch115)

and finally, the most shocking, latest news...

after reading the translations and also trying to interpretate the hiragana myself, how i wished i could read japanese fluently... or how i should be living in japan, so i can always get the latest chapters right off the news-stands every 2 weeks... aarrrgghhh!!!

a furuba livejournal community wrote somewhere in one of their entries that furuba is set to finish off on its 22nd book... which means... *counts fingers* another 4 more books to go! book #18 is already published in japan, just last week on 16/09, so let's give ChuangYi and TongLi, the earliest, another 2 months to get the chinese one out... i'm predicting that CY might get it out faster, though i'm reading the TL one myself...
